Lately I've been trying to master winter scenes, with mixed success.

The first time I attempted this scene, it was a small 8 x 6" sketch done during

an online quick-paint event, with the reference supplied by fellow artist Judy Johnson:

I liked some things about my little painting,

but I wanted to see what I could do on a larger canvas, without a two-hour time limit.

"Snow Day" is the result.
