About Tami O.

My education is in graphic design, but I've been painting professionally since 1981. For the first eighteen years of my career, I worked as an equine artist, painting the sport of Thoroughbred racing in the San Francisco Bay area. Since moving to Indiana five years ago, I've expanded my subject matter to include theatrical themes, food and wine art, florals, plein air landscapes, and the coastline of my native California.

Whatever I paint, the constant themes in my work are color and light. Whether I'm depicting something inherently beautiful, like a ballerina, or something more ordinary, like ropes in a theatre, I try to infuse my subjects with those two things, creating a sense of reality turned up a few notches.
